As you might have seen in my other post about the movie “Inception”, there are many different approaches to that film, when it comes to comprehend what really happened. A new approach shows the different dream layers all at the same time:

I had / have them all:

• original iPhone
• iPhone 3G
• iPhone 3GS
• iPhone 4
• iPhone 4S
• iPad (64 GB WiFi)
• iPad 2 (64 GB WiFi)

And I have started jailbreaking them as early as firmwares 1.xx .

It can be sometimes dangerous and cumbersome to jailbreak, but several Cydia apps are definitely worth the hassle. In this post I will try to keep a list of trusted and working Cydia apps. I will try to add a small description, if the function is not obvious.

• biteSMS: InternetSMS with own “from” number, 7ct/SMS instead19 or 29ct (in Germany) (makes most sense for iPhone)
• Bluetooth Profile Selector: can configure, which BT profiles should be active and which not (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• DisplayOut: Springboard (= iPad Desktop) as well as ALL  Apps can be shown via an iPod-to-VGA connector on an external monitor, no matter if these apps can do the trick on their own (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• Five Icon Dock: well, it enables you to have 5 icons in your dock, obviously (e.g. biteSMS )(iPhone, iPod touch)
• Five Icon Switcher: 5 icons in the multitasking switcher (only for iOS4 and iPhone)(iPhone, iPod touch)
• IntelliScreen: Appointments, new mails and SMS, etc. in the lockscreen (iPhone, iPod touch)
• Multifl0w: good looking multitasking switcher (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• My3G: tricks programs into thinking that they are in a WiFi network, although they are on 3G such as FACETIME!!! (important for some programs which only work in WiFi) (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• MyWi 4.0: converts the iOS device into a 3G-WiFi Hotspot (!), which brings other WiFi (only) devices online (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• SBSettings: great program for the management of a HUGE amount of settings (On/Off: Wifi, BT, 3G, data, brigthness …), reachable just with a swipe (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• Backgrounder: TRUE background processes, is compatible with iOS 4 multitasking (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• Wi-Fi Sync: iTunes sync by WiFi, instead of USB! (needs helper program on PC/Mac) (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• BTstack Mouse: BLUETOOTH MOUSE on your iPad!!! perfect together with a BT keyboard or the keyboard dock (mostly iPad!?)
• FullForce: “forces” small iPhone Apps to fullscreen mode with mixed results, some Apps skale quite well, others don’t (iPad obviously)
• Frash (Flash on iOS!!, is still very ALPHA (not really for everyday use) (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• MxTube: DOWNLOADS Youtube videos (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• TruPrint: Enables Printing with much more printers than AirPrint.
• Smartscreen for iPad: gives your iPad lock screen a true meaning. You can add widgets to the screen.

Special iOS 4.2.1+ Apps:

• AirVideoEnabler: all (also 3rd party) video apps can use AirPlay video (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
• NoMute for iPad: mute switch on iPad is changed back to rotation lock (unfortunately it also still mutes your sounds) (iPad obviously)

EDIT 6. April 2011: And the ONE APP TO SAVE THEM ALL: PKGBackup: backups Cydia programs for easy re-installation after firmware updates (iPhone up to now, possibly iPad)

KILLER iOS 5 Jailbreak Apps:

• IntelliScreenX: TRUE successor of Intelliscreen, enables a plethora of functions on the lock screen, enables to check appointments, email, Twitter, Facebook, the weather and RSS feeds ON YOUR LOCKSCREEN
• Springtomize 2: The springboard customizing app to rule them all!! One neat app for so many functions. Has replaced “Five Icon Dock”, “Five Icon Switcher”, Old TV Tube and more for me and offers still many more functions I haven’t seen in other apps.

The panoramic view was stiched together from 8000 photos and is 400.000 x 200.000 pixels in sizes. Try that with your usual digital camera!

A personal tip: also try to look down, more or less where you stand and you can see Londoners in their daily life:

However, a lot of gamers seem not to know how to play the game. They do horrible mistakes all the time and tend to stand in a corner and snipe the whole time until their tickets run out.

1. Make the stick bootable

from a DOS prompt execute: diskpart
list disk
select disk 1 (assuming disk 1 was your thumb drive in the above list disk command)
clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format fs=fat32
assign
exit

Now the stick is bootable.

2. Windows files

Copy the contents of your Windows image or DVD to the base level of the stick.

3. BIOS

Make sure that in your BIOS boot options, you have selected USB as primary boot option.

4. Booting

You will notice a significant boost in installation speed!!

Gizmodo, a well-known gadget site, often brings on really cool pictures on top of each post, some from own artists. Especially this post caught my eye, as I had seen a similar picture before.
